We added two new furry companions to our household. One of the two new dogs in a white Labrador we named Remington. Remington has gotten big enough that he can wear a collar. Of course it needs to be tactical.
What I Bought
CP Gear is a Canadian company that makes nylon gear and tactical accessories targeted to CAF members. I found they also offered a dog collar and leash. CP Gear has Dog Collar on their site starting at $24 with plastic hardware. The metal hardware is an additional five dollars. The leash is available separately for $22. The leash and collar together are $44 or $48 for metal hardware, which is what I ordered.
Colour options are Arid Desert, Cadpat (Woodland), Universal (ACU), MultiCam, Black, Olive, or Coyote Brown. I ordered Remington’s collar and leash in Olive.
CP Gear will also customize many of their products by adding a name tape for $6, or if you order 3 or more $4.50 each. I asked that they include a name tape, in Olive, with the new High Vis thread and a red maple leaf.
- Individually hand made
- 1000d Cordura Nylon
- Plastic 1″ side release, or metal buckle
- 1″ metal snap hook on leash
What I Thought
Overall I’m very impressed with the quality and attention to detail that CP Gear paid to this dog collar. I’ve ordered a few items from CP Gear over the years and have always gotten exactly what I ordered with little delay. There were three or four lose threads on the name tape. Other wise all the stitching looks perfect, many of the stress points have cross stitching for added strength. The metal eyelets are centered and evenly spaced. The maximum neck size this collar will support is 21 inches. The smallest eyelet reduces the size to 17 inches. There are four eyelets in total, spaced 1 inch apart.
